This is just an opinion piece. I was skeptical from the beginning of this coup with the junta trained in USA and the USA wanting the EU destroyed.
Niger allows USA military to stay but wants France out, I smell a set up.
Military cooperation: US confirms partial resumption of military activities in Niger
The US State Department has confirmed the partial resumption, for two weeks, of their activities in Niger, including surveillance and reconnaissance flights (ISR), limited to the protection of soldiers. According to the Pentagon, this takeover was the result of diplomatic discussions with the new Niger authorities. A decision that takes the opposite foot of the French position that it, announced the end of its military operations in Niger although Paris continues to maintain the presence of its soldiers in Niger.

France is forced to react to the latest trends of patriotic military coups and the US’ newfound pragmatic response to the most recent one in Niger, the latter of which saw the resumption of its military activity there after Nuland struck a deal with the junta. It can either try to destabilize the region out of desperation or begin pragmatically adapting to everything through much more reasonable responses like the one that it just showed after the Gabonese coup a few weeks ago.

Just a side note on the Gabonese coup, it was all in the family. France and USA are fine with this coup because nothing changes except the face of the Gabon puppet.
