In light of those horrendous tortures and murders against Christians i.e. that picture of the crucifixion (I had no idea it was that openly brutal until you highlighted just now), that the Roman pontiff can align himself with the regime responsible for such sadism is extra confirmation he's the antitypical son of perdition (warned of in II Thess. 2) following in the footsteps of Judas Iscariot.
